ReviewBuddy is made by Chen He. It has no developer-operated server, advertising, analytics or tracking. We do not collect your API credentials, reviews, drafts, private notes or payment details.
Your connection
You explicitly import your own App Store Connect API private key. ReviewBuddy stores the complete connection in Apple Keychain. If you choose iCloud Keychain sync, Apple synchronizes the account details and private key across your devices using the same Apple Account. Turning sync off keeps a local copy on that device; the existing shared copy remains available elsewhere. ReviewBuddy never displays or exports the saved private key.
Local workspace
Cached public reviews and send records stay in the app’s local container, separated by account. Reviews are never uploaded; each device fetches them from Apple. Device backups may include local data depending on your settings. With Sync with iCloud on (the default), reply drafts, private notes, reviewed marks and reply templates are stored in your private iCloud database through Apple’s CloudKit, so your devices stay in step. Reply text, notes and templates use CloudKit encrypted fields. The developer cannot access your private iCloud data. Turn sync off in Settings at any time; nothing is deleted. Removing a connection from this device deletes its local connection and cached workspace and stops automatic reconnection. Shared credentials remain in iCloud Keychain and on other devices; revoke API access in App Store Connect if needed.
Communication with Apple
Account tests, refreshes and replies you explicitly approve go directly to Apple’s App Store Connect API. Icons for published apps come from Apple’s public US catalog and image servers without your API credential. Apple handles these requests under its policies. My Apps opens the App Store or the developer’s website only when you choose a link.
On-device processing
Optional Apple Intelligence suggestions and Apple Translation process text on device on supported systems. Apple may download language packs. ReviewBuddy does not send reviews to a third-party AI provider.
Widgets
Widgets receive a local summary of public reviews, including counts, ratings and recent reviews. Widgets never receive drafts, private notes or credentials. Widget content may be visible on your Home Screen, desktop or Lock Screen.
Optional purchases
ReviewBuddy Plus is an optional one-time in-app purchase that unlocks advanced features; it can be shared through Family Sharing and restored with Restore Purchases. Reply templates are stored on your device and, when Sync with iCloud is enabled, in your private iCloud database. Plus widgets learn only whether Plus is unlocked, alongside the public review summary. ReviewBuddy checks ownership with Apple on your device. Apple handles payment and provides verified transactions to the app. We do not receive your payment details. ReviewBuddy Plus is not a subscription.
Support and changes
If you email support, we receive the email and the details you choose to share to respond to your request. Do not send private keys or sensitive customer information. This policy will be updated when the app’s data handling changes.
